The host gets to invite whomever they want to their party. Just because one out of 7 has a disagreement doesn't mean the other 6 can't discuss things.

Yes I agree. I’m not the one going all “snowflake” since this was reported. I’ve been busy laughing at the anti-Iran diplomacy Right Wingers on Fox News, Twitter and within the Administration that are offended. I applaud Macron taking the lead. Someone has to and we know Iran won’t acknowledge a woman not even Merkel.

MAJ James Woods Absolutely, and Macron is more than happy to take on the role of world leader that Trump essentially gave away.

Well the French do what they want and don't care until a Panzer comes roaring by the Eiffel Tower and two Germans get out demanding coffee and pastries at a Bistro then they are all apologetic and want help. It is France so they can do what they want to do. We would probably do the same if it was on American Soil although not with Iran.

An expensive Fourth Amendment violation like that by the rookie makes me question what kind of academy they have there. He’s lucky he got chewed out, instead of more suitably punished or even fired. We had both the Bill of Rights and the USMJ hammered into us, but that was a military police academy, not civilian. We were working under martial law, so no one was supposed to be armed, even us. No 2A outside the US.

I have no doubt that the same jurisdictions that had poll taxes and/or other methods to keep black folks “under control” or whatever self centered excuse they used, would also be discriminatory on gun ownership. Dixiecrats and Jim Crow, it took a long time to codify those behaviors as illegal as it should have been from the beginning. Hardcore bigot Strom Thurmond was hallowed by the Democratic Party in spite of his horrible behavior towards black Americans, it was that institutionalized. I’ve even heard that the KKK is still in existence down south. I grew up with friends from the Colville Reservation, they had no restrictions on gun ownership, kinda hard to hunt without a gun, and the Tribes here don’t have any restrictions either as far as I’ve heard, so I have no experience in discriminatory gun laws and customs,, but Beau sounds southern and more in line with what I’d believe of a southern jurisdiction.
The royal “we”, in many cases, had no idea that what was happening. When the Watts riots came on TV I didn’t understand, and I’m not sure my parents did either, but I came from a family of missionaries and religious orders and there was never anything negative about anyone that wasn’t like us.
Law enforcement here doesn’t seem to have a problem with it, there’s a gun store every other block downtown and they do a brisk business, but they follow the law strictly. I think part of the non-problem could be our low crime rate, at least for gun crimes (resort town = DUIs).

MCPO Hilary Kunz - Reference your comment "I’ve even heard that the KKK is still in existence down south." Yes they are but not as prevalent as in states like OHIO where their headquarters is located and the mid and northwest. However, they don't own a monopoly on hate groups. You want your eyes open, go tot he Southern Poverty Law Center Website and click onthe hate group map...that will openyour eyes a little.

Lt Col Scott Shuttleworth I don’t follow hate so didn’t know where the KKK was, just always associated them with the south.
I’d often heard that the Southern Poverty Law Center was an anti-religious hate and nuisance group that would attack anyone they don’t agree with on any issue, but I’ve never actually looked into them, just got the impression from others that worked at other California municipalities and from my work on the CFC on active duty. Decades ago they were one of the “iffy” charities, lumped in with the pedophilia group North American Man-Boy Love Association and other extremist groups, but I never did a detailed look at them, just moved on with the CFC program.
That said, I’m sure that there’s a huge number of hate groups, but SPLC does have a rather complete list of religious organizations, which is curious. Are all these religious groups “hate” groups because of their religious beliefs? Is SPLC a religion that hates others based upon religious beliefs and therefore tries to shame anyone or anything that doesn’t agree with them? Two things I learned when doing investigations; follow the money, and little lie big lie; they didn’t pass the sniff test in the past.

With all that professional history behind me, I know come in with a bias and have a hard time following SPLC’s train of thought because I don’t trust them. Even leaving out religions, there’s a ton of neo nazi and other groups out there, which on their list is rather large. It’s astounding how many hate groups they have listed, and how they are spread everywhere, even Honolulu and Anchorage.
On active duty hate groups were quickly targeted; I only had one case of a kid joining a group, he was part of a larger social experiment to “be inclusive”. They lowered the ASVAB scores required to get into the rate in the hopes of adding diversity, but he couldn’t fix his equipment nor converse with the others in the shop, which is why I think he was easy recruit, and he was out of the Navy shortly thereafter. The stupid thing was that he didn’t come to us with the prejudices, there was a some creepy group of guys on the ship that recruited him. His direct supervisor was a black guy, and that started problems where none were before. He was actually married to a PNG Mexican National while belonging to a group that disliked Mexicans, then tried to sneak her across the border and got his car impounded. “Here honey, just hop in the trunk”. Like I said, stupid.

How come there’s no “like” groups?

Thanks for the look at something I hadn’t considered, it was as you said, an eye opener.

MCPO Hilary Kunz - I don't agree with everything the SPLC states...they even call American Family Association a hate group. BUT the map is an eye opener. I am from the South and we have certainly had our share of troubles but we have come along way. When I was stationied in Ohio and Pennsylvania it opened my eyes to racism more than I had ever seen in the South...not picking on Ohio but Maryland/Ohio/Pennsylvania/West Virginia I witnessed it first hand with some of my recruiters in the field. The South doesn't have amonopoly on racism...it is just magnified more because of some really really really bad apples in our past.

Just saw on Fox News at work (can’t stand that every TV is tuned to one channel) that Trump is now open to meeting with Iran and having talks. Guess Macron upstaged him at G7 with his agenda to address Iran.
