My personal opinion: NATO, U.S. needs to accept responsibility for the current war. Putin had expressed his intentions early on, If NATO, U.S. had come out and said, "Fine, Ukraine will not be part of NATO, they will remain neutral. And If you or any of your allies set foot in Ukraine, support any type of actions against or in Ukraine, we will come on you full force. Also remember Mr. Putin, in 1994 you also guaranteed Ukraine's sovereignty in exchange for them giving up their nukes." But instead NATO, U.S. remained silent, expressing nothing. If actions were taken then, I believe we would not be here now.

NATO did the right thing by refusing to allow Russia to dictate who will or will not be a member. It is not up to Russia.
The whole NATO thing was just a pre-text. Remember, he annexed Crimea without a word about NATO, other than warnings to stay out if it. Which, incidentally, is what started the Ukraine-NATO conversation in the first place.
The precedent that would have been sent is that Russia can aggress, and no one is allowed to look to NATO for help.

I may not agree with you on some of the points but if we hadn't left Afghanistan the way we did, Vladimir Putin wouldn't have continued his face too of just taking more than Crimea.
If Europe would have done is 2% of GDP like many of the Warsaw Pact countries have done like latvia, estonia, Lithuania Poland others, the NATO allies wouldn't be running out of ordinance and using up their valuable War stock. Idiot President Biden said the US is back when he won and he took pressure off NATO to put 2% toward defense while President Trump was looked upon as a Russian asset when he was telling NATO to not agree to pay 2% in 2 to 5 years but to invest all the money that you didn't invest in all that time so NATO would have plenty of operational aircraft, tanks and actual ammunition stockpiles.
The Biden Administration ruins everything it touches and a perfect example why people are dying today. Everything President Biden tries to do or not do people die!
