A1C Medrick "Rick" DeVaney When the pandemic was declared the governor issued a proclamation that if tenants couldn't afford rent they didn't have to pay until the pandemic was over. I ignored him and so did my tenants. The people who took advantage of the situation broke a lot of landlords and didn't pay and wouldn't even try. It's a long story as to what has happened basically the ones who trusted the government went broke and many lost their properties. I don't have that problem because I own all my property free and clear. And with all the increased taxes and municipal fees I refuse to bow down to them and won't raise rent. My rentals average 50% under the market price. So far each supports itself without having to 'borrow' from another fund to survive. The one tenant that was so late paid today and explained he just went a little overboard on Christmas. To honor the Ebenezers in my family line I did tell him Bah, humbug.
