SP5 Mark Kuzinski thanks for this solid read and share, wow this is depressing to read, but reality. I hope all use resources to succumb the death toll. One Veteran too many!

If this "statistic" was true then the VA and the US Government would be guilty of gross negligence, criminal negligence and fraud in terms of their attempts to help veterans fight depression d overcome or deal with PTSD SP5 Mark Kuzinski.
This statistic has been thrown out every year for the past few years as though it were helpful and accurate as a prediction.
Thankfully this statistic is equivalent to an"urban legend" and the number of veterans who successfully kill themselves varies from day to day as would be expected. Some programs are more effective than others. If the number flat-lined that would mean that none of the PTSD or depression programs would be effective in the least. If that were the case it would save time, money and emotional distress by terminating every one of the VAs programs for PTSD and depression.
The hypocrisy of Dr. David J. Shulkin, VA Under Secretary for Health when he states "We as a nation must focus on bringing the number of veteran suicides to zero" makes my blood boil.

CPL Edwin Johnston
The epidemic has been bombarded with 501 c suicide and awarness groups and the country is aware of the crisis. More effort is necessary in prevention and intervention Every agency in the world advocates that a connection to a faith-based community is effective intervention and prevention and more needs to be done to connect those at risk to them.

This is truly sad on the VA's part, people serve and are then let down those they help to protect.
