Since I live in this region, about 1 hour from K.C., I will say that i believe the area can absorb the impact on the workforce, however this will significantly slow or delay any growth in the area job industry, and further closings of any big plants or companies could significantly affect the local economy. This many closing in a short period will put the local job availability at a premium and will likely lead to having many professionals leaving the area for greener pastures, which is not a good thing for this economy.
