2 weeks ago I saw Canadian Skyhawk Paratroopers jump out of this Short SC.7 which is very similar to the C-23 Sherpa/Short 330. Both are from the same manufacturer.
I flew in to Provincial Reconstruction Team Farah, Afghanistan in one similar to this one. Jeffrey Maunder was with me in 2008-2009. The one pilot was a contractor who looked like he once was or still flying for Air America. This Aircraft had no cabin door between us and the pilot. This Aircraft was unpressurized and extremely loud. Look like that SC7, Skytrain is ideal for that. It is a STOL capable (short takeoff and landing )British designed aircraft. I can understand why that may be ideal for special operations use.

I have seen the Short 330 land daily in Iraq. The thing only needs like a hundred foot of runway to takeoff and land. It probably stops in the same distance as an aircraft carrier without the use of a tail hook.
