My favorite DS psycho babble - "Why do I see you PVT. I should see a #&#*@#&* blur PVT. You don't look like 3#$#$&& blur PVT. WHY DO I SEE YOU PVT. WHY!!!!!!" God forbid you laugh at any of that shit - you'll end up pushing the earth to the moon.

There HAS to be a book of instruction for Drills on how to say the stupidest stuff, and you actually try to comply with it knowing good and damn well it made no sense.

I have to confess. I'm glad I was an officer. Nothing in ROTC was ever close to this. I don't really understand why the recruits had to place their face in their bags. Wouldn't parade rest have made more sense? I give the DIs credit for consistency, physical and mental stamina.

Sir, I remember the Senior DS coming up and stating, "welcome to D co 787 MP BN, on behalf of the Commandant of the MP Corps, the Commander of the 787 MP BN, and YOUR commander (CPT whatever), you have 10 seconds to unass my vehicle in a safe manner, and 9 are already gone". With all these freakin bags of crap, a DS standing between the isle and door blocking a clear path, and then "PUT THAT BAG DOWN PRIVATE, WHO TOLD YOU TO PUT THAT BAG DOWN PRIVATE, you mention the Drill that told you, ARE WE FUCKING FISHING BUDDIES PRIVATE? ARE YOU FUCKING RETARDED PRIVATE? You look at him and say NO DS and once you can't hold that bad up, or push with it, it reaffirms my belief at the time I wish I was just left as another stain on my parents bed.

The pinnacle of our lives in a lot of ways. I feel blessed to know I was able to do what I wanted.....as long as it was what the DS wanted at the same time.

SSG Warren Swan -The words sometime still crop up in my mind from SFC Smith from long ago on the quadrangle learning the fundamentals of close order drill "Roncari you are bouncing"simple lessons taught by wise men.
