Smyth Busters: Will Steel Cased Ammo Damage My Gun?

I won't run steel cased ammo in my guns, and I prefer not to run aluminum cased ammo. We have run into brass-plated steel ammo at the range, and we have to use a magnet to tell the difference. Chamber tolerances in pistols are based on brass ammo, not aluminum or steel.

I do not agree. I put 2 rounds of steel case through my 30-30 Lever and had to disassemble the gun to extract the casings. No more steel for me.
