Thanks Sgt Kelli Mays for sharing the news that "E Street Band guitarist Steven Van Zandt called upon Lin-Manuel Miranda to apologize to Mike Pence for the Hamilton cast's speech to the Vice President-elect following Friday's performance"
I support Vice President elect Mike Pence and I am thankful that Steve Van Zabdt stood up for him even though he disagrees with his Governor Mike Pence's views.
"Although Van Zandt tweeted that "everyone who is sane disagrees with [Pence's] policies," he argued that a Broadway show – or anywhere where art is performed – is not the proper venue to "bully" an audience member.
"Hamilton made a mistake. Audiences shouldn't have to worry about being blindsided like that. Theater should be sanctuary for Art to speak," Van Zandt wrote."

Well I'll take this one on. When Obama won, you had MULTIPLE SM's who publicly denounced him through FB posts, tweets, personal actions, and getting on tv saying he was not qualified to be President. Ted Nugent with his draft skipping ass even gets on there and talks smack about Obama. Half the US wants to divide Obama into black and white depending on what he is doing. Problem is Obama is BLACK. Skip that 1/2 whatever BS. There is no such thing as a "pure" black man or woman anywhere. These were not the "left" everyone is whining over, this was military members, elitists, and the "right". So it's "ok" for them to say what they want about the president and when the "left" does it, they should "get over it"? Weird way of thinking things in my eyes. Trump can say whatever he wants whenever he wants, disrespect families online and in person, and the "right" blesses off on it? Where was all this "outrage" when Trump passed out a candidates phone number? Where was all this "outrage" when he went after Cruz's wife? Where was this "outrage:" when he found new ways to disrespect vets, beginning with McCain? I mean he only "skipped" a debate because a WOMAN stood up to him. Insecure much? A woman stood her ground and he bails making a bullshit veterans fundraiser a few blocks down. Where was the "outrage" when it was discovered that the money that was "raised" wasn't dolled out and was in an account managed by him? Where was the "outrage" when four months later it was found that he did NOT raise six million? Where was the "outrage" when it was also found out that Trump didn't donate that million of his own? Four months late, and ONLY when the Washington Post ran with it did anyone start asking questions. Did anyone notice that the most major vet orgs wanted nothing to do with that money? IAVA was on many shows stating they wanted nothing to do with that money and why. To this day, they say the money has been given, but to most of the vets, no one has heard of most them. Where was all this "outrage" by the right or anyone else? So "bullying" is acceptable when Trump or the "right" says so? The right wants to do away with "safe zones", but wants broadway to be a "safe zone"? Does Pence put his own pants on left leg first? Does he do the three "S" in the morning, does he eat food like the rest of us? That makes him mortal and human just like the rest of us. The President, VP, and congress are supposed to "work" for the people (well we all know that's not true) So when a group of people (our legislators are "supposed" to work for, ask in a polite manner, giving respect to the incoming VP a question, you expect them to shuffle down the hall kissing the ring, and fearing the overseer with the nearby whip? You expect them to not say anything but chastise them if they exercise 1A, they're wrong? You're a damn hypocrite if you think this. Look at the entire speech, and it wasn't used AT ALL to say anything disrespectful, questionable, or bring malice. If that was "bad", I'd call them out too. This site blew up like Kim Kardashains ass when a Marine stood and asked Bill a question, and swore Bill was in the wrong for sending him packing. The Marine wasn't disrespectful, wasn't yelling, just wanted to ask a question. It wasn't a "relevant" question, but he had the right to ask that question. Hate to see any of you when the Boston Tea Party happened. Man those dudes were "terrorists"!!! MLK would've died a hell of a lot sooner reading these replies. He actually spoke to people; legislators and all. Another terrorist that needs "dispatching". X would've been the same thing. MLK, X, the Jews, today the LGBT and many Muslims who legally immigrate here, all had rights they wanted to exercise, but each was shut down, and that is the shame of this. They wanted freedom in all senses of the word, and in all the senses of the word let down.

SSG Swan, good comments. The case of Dr. Lakin is one I was really interested in. He was a LTC who refused to deploy to Afghanistan because he would not accept President Obama as 'legitimate...' he wanted to go to court martial to question Obama's right to issue orders for him to deploy! It seems he was such a birther he thought he would use his court martial to turn the tables and use discovery and such to prove President Obama wasn't born in the U.S. or whatever. Yikes.
Well, of course his court martial wasn't interested in his little theories, convicted him and charged him. He lost and went to the can for a few months, and lost his pension and such. He has gone on to present himself as a martyr / victim at conservative and Christian conferences and such.
I was stationed at Bragg, so I noticed an interesting sidebar to this story: the full bird Colonel who was Latham's commander was a Medal of Honor recipient from Viet Nam who was still serving. I have to say, that blew my mind. To be so lost in hate for President Obama as to refuse the opportunity to deploy and serve under a MOH recipient, a great honor that would be with you for the rest of your life...
What a foolish, bitter man. I don't understand.

SSG (Join to see) - I remember when his tone changed QUICK! He was pleading that he'd go, he made a mistake, all kinds of stuff that he thought would give him a leg up and out of trouble. Lost everything and now is playing the "victim"?
The only officer I served under that I KNEW was a MOH recipient was (then) MG Foley, Commander of MDW, and later Third Corps at Hood.

A real leader can listen to the people he is supposed to serve, without getting butt hurt. Trump is the one that sounds butt hurt. Im sure as politician for a long time Pence has heard worse and been booed before.
Tell Trump to get over it. He already won and stop tweeting also
