From article: "You can be Christ, by loving God and others".
Christ said:
"If you love Me, keep my commands" (John 14:15).
"Anyone who loves Me will obey My teaching" (John 14:23).
Homosexuality is forbidden in the Bible. It is not ambiguous. It is very clear. Anyone who wants to "be Christ" (or Christ-like) has to follow all His commands. Not just the ones we like. This applies to everyone, straight or gay.

From article: "...they finally allowed themselves to consider love may trump religious tradition".
It's very easy to say things like this. Love is love. How could love be wrong? What about when a 40 year old man "loves" a 12 year old girl (or boy)? Most would agree that those statements no longer hold true. So to use them at all is to use a sliding scale that you, the individual, get to determine the limits of. And if "you" get to determine the limits for yourself, so does everyone else. And where does that leave us?

If there shouldn't be a straight "pride" then there should be no gay pride or any other "pride".

Every day is straight pride. The entire reason we started our own parades, bars, etc, was because you people wouldn't allow us in yours. And now you complain that we have our own thing. Make up your mind, either accept us so we don't need our own spaces, or stop complaining about it. You can't have one foot in and one foot out.

SPC Angela Burnham - There are a few issues surrounding this whole thing. First, I think the Christian church completely mishandled the gay thing (I'm sorry, I don't know what it's actually called). According to the Bible, homosexuality is a sin and sinners need to repent. The church would have done well to remember that we are all sinners and all need to repent, not just homosexuals. God doesn't hate homosexuals. He hates sin. My sin, your sin, everyone's sin. We as Christians are called to show the love of Christ to others and this was largely not done regarding gay people. That was wrong.

Second, our society now demands that I as a Christian approve of your lifestyle and if I don't I'm intolerant and hateful. This too is completely wrong. I can love you as a person and not agree with what you do. I can also love you as a person and distance myself from you if I feel some of your choices may have a negative impact on my life or the lives of my children. If you don't think being gay is a sin, I get it. But for those of us who do, we can't simply "accept" it. It's no different than someone doing drugs or watching porn or telling racist jokes. None of those things mean that I have a right to be mean to you. But I can most certainly disagree with your choice to do them and I can distance myself from those activities. And if anyone in those groups decided to dedicate a month to celebrate pride in those things, I would take issue with it.

So if I were to meet you one day I could most certainly be your friend. I would help you if you needed help. But I wouldn't celebrate this particular lifestyle. So to address your comment to CW5 Jack Cardwell I can accept you as a person and as a friend while also protesting a pride month for something I feel is sinful. The too are not contradictory regardless of what society says.
