Women in the Military has always been an issue...I know firsthand women were not wanted in the Army; however, the Drills were directed to train us. The discharge rate in 1983 was almost 50%.
That being said, if a female is physically capable of passing the required components, then she has proven capable. Combat MOS’s are open to women who have the physical strength to pass the required tests and meet the standards. There are MOS’s in which women could actually perform more efficiently than men...I was AG Corps ADMIN and I worked with many males who did not pay attention to detail and really screwed up records. I am not being biased, just speaking from my experience. I, personally, wouldn’t choose an Infantry MOS; however, I would definitely have loved to have been a pilot and fly combat missions! I think there enough jobs within all Branches of the Military for men and women as long as they meet the standards!
(just my two cents)

Your two cents are spot on. If a woman can pass the same fitness test, same scoring with no allowances, and can do the job then let her do the job.

I agree. As long as these women can meet all the standards and pass them, I welcome them with open arms. As long as the standards are not changed so that more women can pass through, then all is good.

There are jobs for everyone. I feel women do just fine in the military, to include combat.

I worked with women in the military for over 20 years. A lot of them were smarter, better, faster and more efficient than me. More power to the women!
