Sudan's Military Says It Has Taken Control And Arrested President Omar Al-Bashir

Chaos is never a good thing, but this guy was a standout bad guy in a region with no shortage of bad guys. His minions had been shooting scores of protesters for weeks. Among his greatest hits are subcontracting the Jamjaweed to rampage against the population of Darfur, killing and raping tens of thousands of people (Remember that?). He launched numerous wars and pogroms against the South Sudanese people (up until a few yeas ago, part of Sudan) on a very thin basis aside from naked racism against dark-skinned people, killing thousands more and causing his nation to break up. He has the infamous distinction of being the first sitting head of state indicted by the International Criminal Court for war crimes, keeping him from traveling most anywhere. Except Syria. He's a pal of Assad and they met in Damascus last year to work out an arms deal.
The world is a better place with this ass hole out of power. Whether his replacement is an improvement or not remains to be seen.
