A real tragedy that day. I served with a former Marine that was in my first Army Reserve unit. A very impressive Monument there at Camp Lejuene and Jacksonville, NC

I remember visiting a friend in the Wiesbaden Hospital. There were some Marines who had been transported there. It was a horrific day.

wasn't even a year later when me and 3 other Seabees were sent to Beirut to work first at what was going to be the new Embassy in east Beirut. When we finished we moved to west Beirut and was working on what was to be the Embassy annex. then on the morning of September 20th a suicide bomber blew himself up and killing 2 other American servicemen PO1 Mike Wagner and CWO Ken Welch front of the annex 3 days after the incident
