Another fine shared article SFC Mary Beaver! Thanks for sharing. My Dad carried a M 1911 until he threw it at a German running away in WWII alas. It that's another story...

I still remember as a 2LT running my first range in Germany and it was a .45 Pistol range( my Artillery BN hadn't been issued 9mm pistol ). Having never qualified with one by that time I completely listened to my NCOs and it ran smooth for all the Battalion Staff and Commanders!
