The Colonel's Motivational/Inspirational Quotes and Message of the Day!
Today is: “Measurement Day!” -
MY PERSONAL QUOTE:
"Taking measure of one's abilities and actions is a good way to keep things moving forward."
- Kerry F. , Harkins - May 17, 2021
"One accurate measurement is worth a thousand expert opinions." - Grace Hopper
"The true measurement of a person's worth isn't what they say they believe in, but what they do in defense of those beliefs. If you're not acting on your beliefs, then they probably aren't real." - Edward Snowden
"If you want to see the true measure of a man, watch how he treats his inferiors, not his equals." - J. K. Rowling
"You can't measure success if you have never failed. My father has taught me that if you really do want to reach your goals, you can't spend any time worrying about whether you're going to win or lose. Focus only on getting better." - Steffi Graf
"The success and ultimately the survival of every business, large or small, depends in the last analysis on its ability to develop people. This ability is not measured by any of our conventional yardsticks of economic success; yet, is the final measurement." - Peter Drucker
"God and Nature first made us what we are, and then out of our own created genius we make ourselves what we want to be. Follow always that great law. Let the sky and God be our limit and Eternity our measurement." - Marcus Garvey
In management as in life we find that...
"The strongest measurement of a leader’s effectiveness is the overall performance of the team meeting and surpassing their goals and objectives!” — COL (Ret) Mikel Burroughs

I pray for sufficient servant leadership, teamwork, willingness to serve as called to do so, ears to hear what the LORD is telling us for each adopted son and daughter of God who reads this prayer or hears this prayer. LORD I pray for sufficient fruit of the Spirit goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control for each of us as grocery shortages and gasoline tax and energy issues. 'Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Outdo yourselves in honoring one another. Do not let your zeal subside; keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, persistent in prayer. Share with the saints who are in need. Practice hospitality.' [Romans 12:10-13 ESV]
As far as effectiveness is concerned, the LORD God is perfect in timing, measure, mercy, grace, and justice as HE works HIS will out for the body of Christ corporately and individually. The LORD justifies each member of the body of Christ and HE is molding us individually and corporately to be spiritually mature and accept our role within the local and corporate body of Christ by the sanctifying of our soul. By God’s grace HE uses each of to bless others and edify the body. HE has used me to intercede for many as a prayer warrior. Like many of you I have been a teacher, usher, greeter, helper, and cleaner in the local churches. ‘If all were a single member, where would the body be? As it is, there are many parts, yet one body. The eye cannot say to the hand, “I have no need of you,” nor again the head to the feet, “I have no need of you.” On the contrary, the parts of the body that seem to be weaker are indispensable, and on those parts of the body that we think less honorable we bestow the greater honor, and our unpresentable parts are treated with greater modesty, which our more presentable parts do not require. But God has so composed the body, giving greater honor to the part that lacked it, that there may be no division in the body, but that the members may have the same care for one another. If one member suffers, all suffer together; if one member is honored, all rejoice together. Now you are the body of Christ and individually members of it. [1 Corinthians 12:19-27 ESV]
The POTUS Biden administration, border policies, energy decisions and tax policies focused on misnamed ‘progressive’ policy solutions that are fool’s gambits. 'Understanding is a wellspring of life to him that has it; but the instruction of fools is folly.’ [Proverbs 16:22 ESV]
I pray that YOU do what it takes to change the heart of POTUS Biden and his wife Jill from pro-induced abortion to be pro-life. 'For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.' [Psalm 139:13-14a ESV]
I pray that you and your family members slept well Monday night and will awake refreshed and healthy on Tuesday morning.

I have found that what you measure, determines what you see. It is important to meausre to know where you are and how well you are succeeding at a task, a business, etc...but be careful that you don't get so focused on the detail of what you've chosen to measure that you miss other important things. Periodically, take a step back and ask yourself if what you are measuring is really what is important. You may need to adjust as the situation changes.

“Measurements, measuring, or measures can take on a lot of different meanings for the message today. How do you look at measurement? Measuring progress, measurement of effectiveness is where it was headed today and that remind me of this quote…
‘You measure the size of the accomplishments by the obstacles you had to overcome to reach your goals.’ — Bokker T. Washington
May you measure your success by the number of individuals that you’ve helped in your lifetime, either as a leader or as an individual friend or connection; may your mind, body, and soul be opened to grace, goodness, peace, forgiveness, and a continued bountiful life of purpose; and keep your family safe, secure, happy, and healthy.” – COL (Ret) Mikel Burroughs
