Good morning Col Burroughs and Posse and Happy Hump Day. Countdown to VFV ride continues...3 days to go!
Whether or not you are in a leadership position, you have choices to make. When something happens you can choose to respond positively or negatively. I often hear parents say hurtful, negative things, often without realizing it. Words have power, especially from those we love and those we work with and for. Each day brings new opportunities to choose...choose your words and actions wisely. A demoralized team doesn't perform well, nor does an unhappy child.

Lt Col Charlie Brown - Great wisdom and thought today, as well as the quotes you picked Charlie... When are you arriving in Denver, CO?

“Our mission today and every day is to ‘Build Up’ someone that we care about, a family member, a friend, a connection, or someone on our team as a leader. Do you accept this mission? That leads me to this quote…

‘Build Someone up. Put their insecurities to sleep. Remind them they’re worthy. Tell them they’re magical. Be the light in a too often dim world.’ — Unknown Author

May you be a positive influence on someone today and in the future by building them up; may your mind, body, and soul be opened to grace, goodness, peace, forgiveness, and a continued bountiful life of purpose; and keep your family safe, secure, happy, and healthy.” — COL (Ret) Mikel Burroughs

I expect your moral courage, resolute yet compassionate character, and demonstration of respect to each person is inspirational to those you are responsible for and worthy of emulation. No doubt your confident yet humble demonstration of servant leadership is noteworthy and builds up confidence. I hope you have willingness to allow people to fall below standards or fail in training; counsel them respectfully yet firmly [especially is they are your children]; and encourage them to be not only competent but superior in meeting their responsibilities. I hope and pray that each of us encourage those who look up to us for leadership, guidance and advice. ‘Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.’ [Philippians 2:3-4 ESV] my sister-in-Christ Lt Col Charlie Brown.

LORD I pray for clarity of purpose, focus, hope in YOU and an increased ability to encourage and ability to listen well for each of YOUR adopted sons and daughters who reads this prayer or listens to it dear LORD. I pray that you and I do our best to encourage others in need of encouragement, a shoulder to lean on, and/or human contact. I hope and pray that the joy of the Lord shines through us and our smile brings smiles to each who the LORD knows needs peace and joy. 'But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, having put on the breastplate of faith and love, and for a helmet the hope of salvation. For God has not destined us for wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us so that whether we are awake or asleep we might live with him. Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.' [1 Thessalonians 5:8-11 ESV]
I lift parents, guardians, grandparents and extended family who are caring for young children to YOU LORD. I pray that those caring for the young are wise enough to read to them while they are young, encourage imagination, encourage their natural curiosity, listen to their hopes and dreams, and help them to yearn to learn and succeed. 'Uphold me according to your promise, that I may live, and let me not be put to shame in my hope! Hold me up, that I may be safe and have regard for your statutes continually!’ [Psalm 119:116-117 ESV]
I pray that YOU rejuvenate the soul and bring hope to the grieving individuals who have seen spouses, brothers, sisters and children die, those who have been diagnosed with serious diseases, those discouraged, the depressed, and those who love and care for them. I pray that YOU guide trustworthy individuals to encourage and comfort and prayer warriors to intercede for each one. I thank YOU for transforming us by renewing our mind. Help each of us to encourage those who need a demonstration of love and compassion. 'Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me—practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.’ [Philippians 4:8-9 ESV]
I pray that YOU open our eyes to see the harvest of souls as YOU guide us to pray for, encourage and give hope to. ‘always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect, having a good conscience, so that, when you are slandered, those who revile your good behavior in Christ may be put to shame.’ [1 Peter 3:15b-16 ESV]
Remember the admonition of the LORD on foundation:
1. ‘Everyone who comes to me and hears my words and does them, I will show you what he is like: he is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid the foundation on the rock. And when a flood arose, the stream broke against that house and could not shake it, because it had been well built.’ [Luke 6:47-48 ESV]
2. 'Therefore let us leave the elementary doctrine of Christ and go on to maturity, not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God, and of instruction about washings. [Hebrews 6:1-3 ESV]
I pray that you and your family members sleep well Wednesday night and will awake refreshed and healthy on Thursday morning.
By the power and authority of the Name above all names, Jesus the Christ.

Good Wednesday morning/afternoon, Colonel Burroughs from the now clear skies of the Metrowest Boston, South...

My apologies for the short "Good Morning" message, I had an online meeting/appointment with a VA Physicians Assistant, that became all fouled up as her VA Computer was in sad shape today...and we wound up with just a phone appointment... Then my new laptop seems to have disappeared in the Maintenance route in Houston, TX, and I am now fighting that battle... Not a good day today as you might all ready realized... Anyway, I am back and am providing my input...

Today’s Message is: “Build Up Day!” Why Not?

"Everyone has a chance to learn, improve, and build up their skills." - Tom Peters

"We build our character from the bricks of habit we pile up day by day." - Zig Ziglar

"Do not build up obstacles in your imagination." - Norman Vincent Peale

“Most of the important things in the world have been accomplished by people who have kept on trying when there seemed to be no hope at all.” – Dale Carnegie

"False modesty is an attempt to tear yourself down. True humility focuses more on build up others." -
Tony Dungy

"Build something that fixes something people are having a problem with, and you're lined up for great things." - Dennis Crowley

One can build up or take down but know this, that...

“True leadership involves building up people to inspire growth, competence, and confidence. They create the next generation of leaders.” — COL (Ret) Mikel Burroughs

If it's under warranty, that;'s one thing, but replacing a drive isn't difficult.
https://www.hirensbootcd.org/download/ is a nice collection of software tools to troubleshoot and repair Windows and help with hard drive problems.
The website gives details on how to actually create the disk. Even though the file is a .iso you don't just burn it to a disk.
Best practiced troubleshooting on an old system, to get a feel for them, but you can do quite a bit with them.

I'm with you Colonel I perferr to build instead of tear down, I guess I get most of this from my days as a Drill Instructor, we always tore them completely down the first 2 to 3 weeks, and then started the building process, it was amazing to see what all those Recruits turn out as, and that I believe started my life as being positive about everything.
