Good Saturday Morning COL Mikel J. Burroughs from the crystal clear skies over the Greater Boston Area with a current temperature of 54°... <<<<<<-------- "Honor Day!" -------->>>>>>
I am readying to head to my Monthly DAV Meeting at our new meeting Venue, the Elks Lodge #1124, Norwood, MA who we are partnering with to serve the Veterans & Disabled Veterans of the Greater Norwood, MA area... That said, I will be a little shorter than usual... LOL! I am honored and humbled to add a few additional quotes:

1) A person less fortunate than yourself deserves the best you can give. Because of duty, and honor, and service. You understand those words? You should do your job right, and you should do it well, simply because you can, without looking for notice or reward." - Lee Child"

2) "No person was ever honored for what he received. Honor has been the reward for what he gave." - Calvin Coolidge

3) A true man of honor feels humbled himself when he cannot help humbling others." - Robert E. Lee

4) "Duty, Honor, Country" - those three hallowed words reverently dictate what you ought to be, what you can be, what you will be. They are your rallying point to build courage when courage seems to fail, to regain faith when there seems to be little cause for faith, to create hope when hope becomes forlorn." - Douglas MacArthur

"Leaders and warriors always honor your commitments without reservation and with the utmost integrity!" — COL (Ret) Mikel Burroughs

I pray that you and I are noble in character, honorable in word and deed, and gracious, my friend and brother-in-Christ Sgt (Join to see).
I thank YOU LORD for YOUR Word, fellowship and constant love. YOUR perfect love drives away fear. Empower each of us who are YOUR own to be increasingly more faithful, true and honorable. I thank YOU for transforming the mind of each of by the washing of YOUR Word.
Cleanse us of anything that would lead us towards dishonoring YOU. I pray that the helmet of salvation protects our mind from onslaughts.
Strengthen the good character of each of us. Let YOUR light radiate through us to YOUR glory and our edification. Use us to bless those around us in word and deed.
I pray that false prophets and teachers are being exposed as deceptive imposters. I pray that YOU deliver many people away from their teachings and drive them to healthy, well-balanced churches where YOU are honored.
I pray that YOU restore honor to families across this nation. Let YOU grace and love flow through families and restore trust as much as possible.
By the power and authority of the Name above all names, Jesus the Christ.

Good morning COL Mikel J. Burroughs
Those of us who served know what honor is firsthand. We've seen it in action unlike many of our civilian counterparts. I think that's why when we see military or veterans violating the Code of Honor by doing things they should not, we are angry and embarrassed . I notice that few in our government seem to feel that way; it is as if they have no responsibility or concerns for the actions of their peers.
Earlier today I posted about the only woman to ever have been awarded the Medal of Honor--Dr Mary Edwards Walker. She did what she did because it was the right thing to do. She wasn't in the Army and yet she became a POW. And still she served. I hope none of us have to do something like that but we do have amazing examples of how to serve with honor in case we do. We can use them for examples of how to deal with our lives day to day as well.
