COL Mikel Burroughs good read/share: for the Colonel's Motivational Quotes of the Day. Where the mighty American Bald Eagles roam in the mighty ROCKYMOUNTAINS OF CASTLE ROCK, COLORADO AMONG THIER EAGLES-NEST. I know the view must be MAGNIFICIENT on this day July 1, 2020 as you might glance upon the mighty snowcapped mountains headed into the month of August. As you know I would respond a lot throughout the week, but I am full-time DOD employee doing contracts for the Defense Contracting Management Agency. It is good to have sometime on my break to respond.

Today's theme is “Don’t Rush Day!” My thing is," just keep on living, when you think you have experienced it all". After retirement from the Army, I now understand my best days are yet to come as long as I don't rush it.

The picture depicts my inner-thought:

Great quote and MEME for today's topic SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL - keep this in mind my friend:

"May you never lose your patience and rush through life, because there is so much to enjoy and so much more to experience; may you always keep a positive outlook on your life and those around you; may you show resilience when it is needed in a crisis; and may you take the very best care of yourself and stay strong, safe, and healthy during these uncertain times. Take your time - don’t rush life - savor the journey!" —COL (Ret) Mikel Burroughs

I expect that you like I have never prayed for patience. No doubt the LORD has blessed you with an increase of patience as HE led through trials, testing and lengthy challenging periods including recovering from illness and/or injury for yourself and loved ones. I expect that YOUR faith in God has grown and that you are able to rest in HIM. No doubt you recall the admonition of the LORD 'Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.' [Matthew 11:28-30 ESV]. One significant challenge is to lift our burden to God and not cling to it Joe.
I pray that you and I take sufficient time to seek the LOIRD’s guidance as we gather information prior to making significant decisions. Let us never rush in where angles fear to tread. Holy Spirit I pray that YOU bless each of us with wisdom and an increase of YOUR fruit: kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control, my brother-in-Christ SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL.

LORD I pray that each of YOUR adopted sons and daughters takes YOUR admonishment to heart:
‘But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God' [Galatians 4: 16-21 ESV]
LORD I lift the sick, the injured, the despondent, the homeless, the unemployed and under-employed throughout the USA, as well as Australia, Canada, Mexico, India, Europe, Africa, Philippines, Japan, Korea, Central and South America to YOU. I pray that YOU bless each individual in these groups with gentle healing, abundant rest in safe areas. Protect the homeless from abuse, dear LORD.
I pray for sufficient rest, wisdom, and great mental and physical health for each person on the front lines of COVID and other infectious diseases and for each person involved in treating, ministering and caring for those allected with cancer, pneumonia and heart disease.
I pray that the elected leaders, legislators, judges, and appointed individuals will take sufficient time to count the cost and seriously consider likely second and third order effects and potential unintended consequences before initiating policy, allocating significant funds in the USA, as well as Australia, Canada, Mexico, India, Europe, Africa, Philippines, Japan, Korea, Central and South America
Thank you, LORD for YOUR Word on patience and rest
a. 'Be still and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations. I will be exalted in the earth!' [Psalm 46:10 ESV]
b. 'Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.' [Matthew 11:28-30 ESV]
c. 'Since therefore it remains for some to enter it, and those who formerly received the good news failed to enter because of disobedience, again he appoints a certain day, “Today,” saying through David so long afterward, in the words already quoted, “Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts.” For if Joshua had given them rest, God would not have spoken of another day later on. So then, there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God, for whoever has entered God’s rest has also rested from his works as God did from his. Let us therefore strive to enter that rest, so that no one may fall by the same sort of disobedience.' [Hebrews 4 6-11 ESV]
d. 'But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. Galatians 4:22-24 ESV]

I pray that each one of YOUR adopted children and their loved ones sleep well Wednesday night.

COL Mikel J. Burroughs here is a share to go along with the read.

I wish I would have listen why I was younger on some of the topics.

Mexican inspirational writer Akiroq Brost once wrote "Don't be in such a rush to reach a goal that you reach the goal before you are ready. Put your heart into a goal but don't rush – good things take time."

We are in a generation where people prefer instant gratification to long term enjoyment. Little wonder why the world is filled with confused and dissatisfied individuals – people make grievous mistakes and live the rest of their lives in regrets. This video exposes you to seven things that you should never rush in life.
