Outstanding! Let's see how far this goes. The Marines only get the new gear when the Army is unsure of it. Easier to "test" in a single Corps than an Army. (Not knocking the Army, just looking at logistics.)

SSgt (Join to see) "Not knocking the Army", That proved to be true in Vietnam when I was there in '66-'67. The Corps had the PRK -10 radio, while the Army had the PRC-25. The Corps was still using the M-14, when the Army was using the M-16. The Corps was using the H-34, while the Army had the UH-1D Huey. Overtime the Corps was issued the Huey, the M-16, and the PRC-25. In my opinion, except for the weight of the M-14 and the ammo, the Corps had the right weapon to begin with. My M-16 even jammed when we were in flight.

Amazing how they even brought the M-14 back for squad designated marksmen as well as others while we were in Iraq!

I sincerely hope that the new Administration will be better equipped and better able to manage weapons procurement programs. We don't need another F35 fiasco. We certainly don't need to lose any more infantry men when their guns jam during combat as when the M16 was introduced into the Vietnam theater of operations.

CPT Jack Durish, The M-16 should have had an M-14 receiver in it. It wasn't even good to use as a club.

While we're at it let's keep the A-10 until they really get an infantry support aircraft that can loiter just as well if not better than the Wart Hog too!

they need to test and run them thru the paces first before any gets excited... the last time some one did this, they dropped off cases of M-16 and books with the directions how to use them to the Marines in Vietnam ... and thats why many folks still do not care for the AR-15/M-16s
