CW5 Jack Cardwell I thought this was about a lasor to heat up MRE's, after reading, it does sound great. Test it out in Portland.

Why do the Marines need weapons for crowd control? Don’t we pay them to kill bad guys?

This sounds like a weapon that civilian police departments need, not the Marines.
