I'm going to keep my dark humor and insensitive comments to myself.

I threw the combat medic tag on it for you. No doubt they will receive good training.
I like a little dark humor. In fact I thrive on it! LOL

Same here. More I keep seeing articles suggesting the gun violence in Chicago is equivalent to a combat zone or war zone just makes me go "ummmm....ok."

Actually this is not new. Baltimore and St. Louis have historically been the go-to places. There is one in Ohio as well and can't recall as we did not utilize it as much. Scottsdale as well. Different AFSCs were focused into those areas for training. I could give you more background on the program- bottom line is most AD docs don't get trauma time and when deployed they freeze up. ANG/AFRES docs are working in real practices and are required to do this as well. My ER doc had to attend...waste of time for him. You can waiver, but AD won't let him play in the sand without this specific training.

Special Forces has been doing this for some time. The four most violent cities afford a uncomfortable opportunity to train for trauma. I saw consistently more violent trauma in Philadelphia than Iraq. The shootings stabbings etc were predictable and honed my trauma skills for war. The democratically controlled “gun free zones” all are havens for violent crime. Chicago, Baltimore, saint Louis, Washington DC, parts of California and Arizona provide fun violence galore for your training to develop trauma excellence.

You are right about Special Forces medical training, but wrong about "gun free zones" in four cities. Pasting URL below. Dallas in conservative Texas has a violent crime crime rate that is MARGINALLY lower than Chicago in liberal Illinois.

But ironically “gun free zones” are really murder capitals.
