Now I have heard of the ROK Army making ghosts in Vietnam. I read an account where a VC killed a ROK soldiers and was caught. They caught him, skinned him alive, left him tied to trees as a message to the VC.

The ROK Army was nothing to mess with the VC were scared to death of them and with good reason. What scared even Me more than the ROK Army was ROK Marines, I'm sure glad they were on our side. I still steered clear of the ROK Marines though which once We went into the I Corp Area it was ROK Marines We dealt with Not ROK Army as in the areas South of there.

Every member of the ROK forces had a few years of experience before they deployed. They were much better paid than the ROK Army in Korea. The had the latest American Equipment and knew how to use it. Their Discipline was severe. They were professionals, not super heroes. Being Asian they observed their surrounding from a different perspective. My Brother in Law was there same time as I was

I was in Korea, 1966-1967, when the Korean White Horse Division returned from Nam.
Story was that on their first contact with the VC, some Koreans were captured and had their ears cut off before being released. The division commander called in a company commander and told him not to come back until he had the skins of the VC that did it.
