I drove about 25 minutes 5 days per week from Fond du Lac to Oshkosh carrying a full load at UWO. Meanwhile I worked in Fond du Lac about 40 hours a week. I would not have been able to do that if college wasn't about 1/2 hour away since Diane and I had a son during 5 of my 8 college semesters

Go to a college near you and live at home.

That works IF there is a college near you. And IF the have the curriculum you need. My granddaughter has to travel 225 miles to her school. Of course, that is in South Dakota so that is "nearby."

MSG Stan Hutchison - I went to Central Washington University because it had a satellite available in the area I lived. I would have preferred another University with more of the curriculum that I desired, but I made a sacrifice. It’s not always what we want but rather what is practical. IMHO

PO1 H Gene Lawrence - Side topic; I always liked Ellensburg. In act I have always liked Washington state. Lived there '62-'63 (cowboying) and '82-'04.
