Excellent article! My sons grew up in the era when video games started to be popular. My oldest died at 19 on a motorcycle, but his brother should go into a trance, as did my granddaughter at age 2 watching Sesame Street. No screens is my prescription….at least until age 13 or 14. I know…not gonna happen.

The late author Michael Crichton, a graduate of Harvard Medical School and a brilliant man, forecast this condition decades ago in a book titled "The Terminal Man". Dr. Crichton noted that human brains could probably not withstand the pervasive influences of computers, and that many of us would become "electronic addicts" or "ELADs". Turns out he was right.
