The Theodore Roosevelt episode was no isolated incident, but a portent of worse to come

The political polarization of the military has been going going on steadily over the course of the previous administrations as well; not just the current one. I always felt it was one of the reasons why toxicity flourished under certain commands.

This skipper was doing everything he felt possible to maintain troop welfare and in those efforts got canned due to a what I see as a politically motivated leak of communications. Now once again, the leaker goes away under the radar rather than being keel hauled themselves. Until swift and severe punishment is given to OPSEC and COMSEC breaches the problem is going to continue.
