The first episode was a history lesson broken up by the statements of Veterans I had a hard time relating to. The second was informational and educational.
My first tour was an 89 day TDY IN 1963. I was supposed to teach Artillery Fire Direction to some ARVN. A total REMF job. It was just before the Diem Coup. The troops I was supposed to teach had been deployed elsewhere. Schools, Colleges, Churches and public assembly were shut down and the ARVN would shoot anyone out after 2100hrs. We were restricted to base so I spent about 70 days doing nothing. Then I left to go to my tour in Korea. So I was able to place myself into that mess
