It's great to see another of aviations historic landmark aircraft restored to its original configuration. Being from San Diego, another big aviation town, I have a longstanding appreciation for civilian and military aircraft. Thanks MAJ Stephen Conway for the share.

My parents and I won a tour of a 747 in 1969 and I was am idiot kid playing with the flight attendant button until they pulled the circuit breaker. I toured the 1st class lounge too back then.

I love the 747! I got the chance to fly on a 747-200SP (the "Short Bus version") that had a tricked out interior, complete with round tables in the middle section with swivel captain's chairs around each table. I think we flew from Puerto Rico to New York.
Since then, I've sought out flights that used the B747. I flew to Korea on a Delta B744, went on and came back from leave on a United B744. Returning from my first deployment, we flew from Kuwait International direct to Fort Drum, NY; 13 hours, 3 of which I spent on the flight deck, chatting with the pilots. Returning from my second deployment, we flew an ATLAS B744 from Manas, Kyrgyzstan to Germany, made a stop at Fort Bragg (to let off some PsyOps guys travelling with us), and then ended up at Fort Campbell (just long enough for a B744 to get into and out of.)
