Interesting look at the 5 stars. Of the bunch, I have my reservations regarding Mcarthur.

Nicci Eisenhauer
LTC (Join to see) GEN Siglaub (author), would have served with Ike's son, John, whom everyone forgets existed and was a one star. I don't know a whole lot about him, either, militarily.

MacArthur certainly had a very high opinion of Himself. He is however the only Five Star General I have actually seen in person.

Nicci Eisenhauer, thanks for the great post. And I am sure that you noticed that the only service to have never had a 5 Star is of course the Marine Corp. And that does make since, we are part of the Department of the Navy. And I am glad that the Corp has been in that position two times a of which includes the current Chairman.

I dig Joe Dunford. I know Ellyn, but haven't connected with her in years... the last time, she was in hospital with appendicitis rather than the Marine Corps Ball... wow! And tomorrow is Marine Corps birthday yet again, isn't it? See? The Marine Corps IS super special -- nobody else's birthday is next to Veterans Day. Hmmm... is that a coincidence, Wikipedia?
