ILLUSTRATIONS: (1) 91st BG B-17Fs "Connecticut Yankee," "Memphis Belle," and "Delta Rebel no. 2" are attacked by Fw-190As over Wilhelmshaven on 22 March 1943. Capt. Clark Gable was on "Delta Rebel" as a gunnery adviser. (2) The "Memphis Belle" battles Fw-190As high above Germany. (3) "Memphis Belle" flies through a flak-filled sky. (4) "Memphis Belle" returns to RAF Bassingbourn after a winter 1943 mission over France. (5) Fw-190As tear into a formation of 91st BG B-17Fs led by the "Memphis Belle" returning from its final mission--a raid on Lorient on 17 May 1943. (6) Me-109Gs make a head-on attack on the "Memphis Belle." (7) "Memphis Belle" returns from its final mission escorted by P-47s. (8) "Memphis Belle" buzzes the field after completing its historic 25th mission. (9) The "Belle" touches down for the last time in England.

Our Air Forces at the time were lucky to have the manpower to only have to do 25 missions. The Brits didn't have that luxury. And fortunately, the power of numbers overwhelmed our enemies.

I'd Take "Chogie" Flights Over To Itazuki AFB, Japan.,, During One Of My Visits
I Was Introduced To A Famous WWII Japanese Fighter Pilot, Kenzō Takada.
He Was SO Famous Because He Managed To Fly 14 Missions As A kamikaze Fighter Pilot.
I'd Take "Chogie" Flights Over To Itazuki AFB, Japan.,, During One Of My Visits
