Adding house sprinklers to new homes is a very bad idea SPC Britanny *Winnie* Balthaser. Anybody who has seen what sprinklers do to paper, material or anything which is not stone, plastic of metal for that matter would never want sprinklers in their home as a government requirement.
I remember being relocated to the Pentagon after the cleanup post-9-11-2001. We lost all documentation which was stored two feet or lower in the bottom floors. The flame-retardant gunk in sprinkler systems is designed to save lives but not property.
England and the UK is vastly over-regulated. Most of my extended-family still live there.

Can't see sprinklers in single family dwellings. The cost is very high for the systems and would just about double the cost of the construction. So yes it would discourage families from building homes because they wouldn't be able to afford them especially over across.

High rise multi family dwellings, or government housing. Hell yes there should be a system in it.

Because you can't check to see if Bob the crack head in apartment 6a dozed off and left his goods cookin and when it blows up poor ol' Johnny and family in 24c are about to get smoke inhalation and cook in their sleep.

This is a trolling article, right? This man actually said it would discourage people from housing building. So screw the residents' lives, right?

You know, in South Korea, they build stores on top of each other to make the most of their land. Other countries should try that - with sprinklers. Because sprinklers, like good guys with guns, are often much closer than firemen or cops.

Make red and blue lives easier, no?
