I was on a flight and hit turbulence. My head hit the overhead so hard I was dizzy. My coffee hit the top of the plane and soaked everyone around me. Not very fun; you can believe me!

PO1 William "Chip" Nagel - my wife and I were flying to California on my Army Reserve drill in 2008 and our plane was supposed to land at Salt Lake City but we were diverted to Pocatello Idaho instead until the weather cleared up. I missed my connecting flight so I did not arrive to my Army Reserve drill until Saturday afternoon because I normally come in Friday afternoon to Palm Springs Airport and then drive to drill on Saturday.

They were lucky - CAT can be severe. This is a B-52 that lost its vertical stabilizer to CAT; aircraft have been known to break up in flight due to clear air turbulence.
