Seems the only one surprised by this are the US and Iraqi generals who went ahead with providing indirect support in the city..... though since JAN - IS has been reported to be using COBs to negate GoI air and artillery advantage. Operations came to a halt when IS used Info Ops to fire counter battery..... and so why US aligned forces were not ready for that remains a good question..

When I was in communications it was frequency grease. Got busted for that one time when the New BN Commander found this lost private and asked him what was going on. He couldn't maintain a straight face when he was trying to chew my ass.
