My comment - Why not get Iran's attention by bringing the wrath of our military down as a deterrent to future strikes on our military bases? Are these targeted attacks just measures to tell Iran to please stop so POTUS doesn't look more foolish than he already does with his Iran policies? Our weak response to Iran, and our non-response to the border crossings are going to bring serious repercussions to our home soil. An experience that will shock our citizens."

No escalation, restraint for now. By not being privy to DOD daily briefings we are late to the party with our opinions. America is lucky to have President Biden at the helm.

Lt Col Scott Shuttleworth - I am sure Iran already knows we have the ability. Attacking the terrorist base in Syria shows them we have the determination to respond to attacks on us. Unless we can show irrefutable evidence of their inclusion in the attacks on us, in a court, any attack by us on Iran would be judged as aggression on our part.
Yes, we all know Iran is behind these attacks, but can we prove it? Better yet, do we want to prove it and perhaps expose some assets in Iran?
Added: IMO, an attack directly on Iran would involve us more directly in the mess that is the Middle East. Do we really want to get involved in another war there?

MSG Stan Hutchison - We don't have assets in Iran. We don't play a long enough game to infiltrate people into positions of any influence in Iran. Iran is itching for a fight with the US to show their strength. It will end badly, but it will happen. They are too backwards to understand what real power is.
