Thank you, my friend SSG Shavonde Chase for making us aware that "Department of Veterans Affairs Secretary Robert Wilkie has ordered a stay on Blue Water Navy Vietnam veterans' claims until Jan. 1, 2020."
His rationale stated in his memorandum dated July 1, 2019 "says the Blue Water Navy Vietnam Veterans Act, recently signed into law by President Donald Trump, "authorizes me to stay certain pending claims for benefits that may be affected by that Act until implementation of the statutory amendments Congress directed to go into effect on Jan. 1, 2020. I exercise that authority."
That seems reasonable to me in order to ensure funding is appropriated prior to authorizing the change to policy granting "Blue Water veteran disability benefits cases."
Hopefully Congress will include sufficient language in the appropriation biol to cover the relevant "Blue Water veteran disability benefits cases."

SSG Shavonde Chase That is a classic--took them 3 decades to do anything about it at all and now 2 more decades and still withholding from some of those exposed.

PO3 Bob McCord - Yep,that was pretty much the same way i was "indoctrinated",too. But some of us do grow up and see the real world instead of the fantasy world impressed on us from birth.Hard to hold on to the virtues of "do unto others as you would have them do unto you" when those who are in power break all the "rules" and have no consideration for anyone "beneath" them and view them as fools because they have ethics and values, instead of greed and self-serving agendas.

How many of them do we have to kill to let the rest of them know that it is time to stop denying benefits to Sailors who put our lives on the line in combat every
time they asked us to?
time they asked us to?
