I saw one of these incidents in DaNang in 1970, when the NVA came into an orphanage that our troops supported, lined the 50 kids up against a wall and machine gunned them. Then they took the old priest that ran the place and strung him up the flag pole. This was to tell the locals that they could do this with the Marines still there, but the Marines will be withdrawn next month - you'd better come our way.
It took me years to be able to think about that without breaking down.

I have one episode left on Burn's "Vietnam " and so far have to agree with the under reporting of atrocities committed by the VC/NVA. I admit being biased because of personal experiences during my time in country.

I don't belive you are being biased. I remember when watching episode six and they talked about finding men, women and children buried in a field along the Perfume River after Hue. All had hands tied behind them and had been shot. It was said that in Hue alone 2,800 enemies of Hanoi had been massacred. That's only one instance.
