Ermey plays an Army Air Cav Huey pilot in Vietnam personal note: this is one of gunny's early roles in his career but was not credited in the film

I just thought of mr. Full metal Jacket gunny playing a bit-part as the lead element of the attacking cavalry Squadron in Apocalypse Now.
