Healing, Resiliency, Immunity

There are many permutations of these concepts. The military puts heavy emphasis on resiliency as preventive measures. Suffice to say the efficacy of focusing on resiliency is sufficient if life is somewhat linear, but the real threat is akin to terrorists. They strike in manners that are unpredictable and ferocity that mental and emotional systems become broken.

Those who have been broken will understand this condition. This is when we need to wrap our arms them to keep them safe and give them hope. Don't let them thrown in the towel so they can fight another day. I have noticed many therapists can't connect well with those who have PTSD. Why should they, they never experienced PTSD. From my perspective the gold standard to healing is greatly facilitated by the meeting of minds with those who have healed from PTSD.

The Veterans who healed from PTSD are like a recon unit, they give intelligence on what is ahead. What is the route. What are the obstacles. What are the danger areas. What is the threat? For the lack of creativity on my part, healing will mimic an OPORD:

SITUATION: Paint the picture. What is PTSD? What are the characteristics? What are the symptoms? What are the threats?
MISSION: Heal from PTSD.
EXECUTIONS: What coping skills do you need? How do you approach the tasks? What is the scheme of maneuver? What are the priorities of fire? What is the main effort?
SERVICE AND SUPPORT: Who will help you?

I am remiss for being verbose. I want to conclude my rambling by saying the center of gravity or true strength to healing is LOVE. Fill your heart and mind with LOVE and it will vacate some of the darkness and will make you a happier person. A happier person is a stronger person. When you get up and rid of the white flag, you can stand straight, your heart is full of love, you see the future with confidence, you will be much stronger than ever before because you won the hardest battle in your life. You will have a new sense of resiliency. Never ever quit......................
