Thank you, my friend SGT John " Mac " McConnell for mentioning the word of the day "gibbous." Since gibbous is akin to waxing as opposed to waning, it would never be used when discussing the appearance of a pregnant spouse :-)
Gibbons, groundhogs, gerbils, guinea pigs, and giraffes may well grind and grunt when the moon seems to be gibbous. However gerunds and Germanic grammar are generally associated with graduate studies as well as grammar school.
