I tended to scare people. I carried some old Army habits with me (like mission-orientation and leading vs managing). I finally found my niche as an independent contractor. It paid better than regular employment (though not as steady) and I was gone before I offended anyone too badly. You know, kiss the horse and ride off into the sunset while people asked "Who was that masked man?"
