What I find is that it isn't convenient and the prices can be pretty outrageous. It's hard to justify paying twice as much for something I can buy in the supermarket.
What seems to work a little better are the co-operatives where people get boxes every two weeks or so and use what they get.

This is a great article! Thanks for sharing. Another influence on these markets comes in the form of unverified vendors at a "Farmer's" Market. I've pulled out of a few markets because the markets have allowed re-sellers marketing themselves as (blank) Farms or Farmer (blank's) Berries. I have no way to compete with their variety when those "farmer" vendors head to a regional wholesale broker's market to pickout fruits, vegetables and flowers or other farm product (specifically honey). many of my farm buddies have pulled completely from farmer's markets because of this and I now know why the managers of these markets allowed it to happen. This article lends itself to a wider scope of the issues.
