I understand their feelings. It is really difficult to show all the complexities of anyone's life over the span of a couple hours. Selectivity of what must and must not be included due to time constraints inevitably leads to an incomplete picture of the people it portrays

An inherent problem with making a documentary for a commercial release. One is limied to the exigencies of the commercial venue, and so is forced to cut or ignore important details. The loyalty to the content and integrity of authorship should cause the production to shut down or find a different venue for release.
