I've seen that patch at a military museum the a local VFW Post has that's about 15 miles from my house, thank you for the great share MAJ Dale E. Wilson, Ph.D.

That shoulder patch was worn by all of us who were assigned to the Army’s Infantry Training Center at Ft Jackson in 1966. I still have mine somewhere in the stack of stuff.

I wore that patch serving on active duty, in the Army Reserve, and as a Department of the Army Civilian (DAC) deployed for Desert Storm. I retired from Third Army/USARCENT as a DAC in 2001.
Note the patch on the picture from 1919. The "A" represents Army and "O" occupation.

Hahaha Sir. This was Patton's 3rd Army patch in WWI and today, it is the 3rd Army patch too.
