Saturday’s Topic: “PTSD and Chronic Pain!”

The American Psychiatric Association estimates that 3.5 percent of the U.S. adult population suffers from PTSD. The American Psychiatric Association estimates that 3.5 percent of the U.S. adult population suffers from PTSD. Although it is well known that PTSD sufferers may experience nightmares or flashbacks of the traumatic event, it is less well known that PTSD patients are more likely to encounter circulatory, digestive, nervous, respiratory, and musculoskeletal illnesses. Chronic pain is commonly a feature of the condition as well.

Various studies suggest that there is a strong link between PTSD and chronic pain. Two studies concluded that 20 to 30 percent of PTSD patients also suffered from chronic pain. Another study of volunteer firemen found that about 50 percent of those who had PTSD also struggled with chronic pain, while only 20 percent of those without PTSD experienced similar pain symptoms.

Tune in Saturday Evening with the “Colonel” and let’s have a discussion about “PTSD and Chronic Pain!”

Nothing like headaches and other aches and pains that are stress related. Finding way to handle that stress is becoming more and more important and life and the pressure hasn't become any easier.

Whether or not the pain can be alleviated, PTSD should and must be treated. Failure to do so raises the suicide risk by six-fold according to recent research.

Lt Col Charlie Brown - Also I'm finding the current Biden Administration's failure and bonehead moves had put even more stress of people as if there wasn't already enough.
