Since I posted that picture of the car I got to drive for a week, I thought I would go back in time a bit further. Back to HS in the Sixties. And a car called the : "Ford Mustang" came out. The car itself was beautiful. But the effect it had on teen age girls was even more apparent.
One of my buddies, well, he didn't have a lot of dates. So he worked two jobs every summer, and one job during the school year. Just before School started in 1967...he bought a brand spanking new Mustang. Metallic Red Paint, with white Naugahyde interior. V8, with a four speed top loader stick shift.
Just driving that car into the School parking lot, made many a mini- skirt go up an inch or two. And when he gunned it, well, sometimes panty hose came off too.
He got a reputation...sort of. But he also got the girls to go out with him. As he used to say: "Who cares if they liked the car or me...I got the kisses."
Yes, he did.

Worked with GTOs too. I was out of college but home for 6 months waiting to go to flight school. No permanent girls, but lots of kisses.

Sarge please disregard my intrusion in your early days. I am autistic and sometimes miss the usual clues. I do not want you going back to a part of your life when you were angry, just to satisfy my curiosity. I was wrong. Sorry about that. I will send myself to bed without supper.

I had a red 67 Coupe during my undergrad years. I had a blue 68 Coupe during my Lieutenant years. Had lots of fun with those cars, and had quite a few offers to buy them from me.

I bet! My friend kept his for forty years! Sold it for a bunch more than he paid for it. But he made sure it went to a good home!
