More from: "Out of the Mouth of Seniors:"
My life is so different than when I was in the Army. And way different than my busy Civilian Career where I had to make my own travel, lodging, and trip bookings.
Thursdays, as a Retired guy...are my busiest days. Lots to do. So here is the list of things I HAVE to do today:
1) Wake up. (check)
2) Shave. (check)
3) Brush teeth. (both the ones in my head, AND the bottom dentures in a glass)
4) Pick kids up from school. Take them to lunch. Return them to Parents.
5) Rest.
And notice on this list, only number 1 and number 4 - are absolutely necessary. The rest can wait for mañana.
What a busy day.

Well My tooth brushing is easy, they are all in My mouth. (no dentures at all) My kids are all grown early 30s into mid 40s. Their kids, (the 2 in the 40s) range from one that will be 18 in March, the other two that are both 20 years old. I do still work part time ( 20 hours a week) even though retired from two jobs. My commute to the Police station while i still worked as a Police Officer was 8 minutes My retired job commute is 30 minutes.

So you are one of the gifted ones like my Grandpa, Aunt Seal, Aunt Colletta, who will march into the century mark with ease!

SGT Kevin Hughes - Could be as We have family member that reached high 90s into low 100s in age. Not 100% free of discomfort and paid but not too badly off. My Dad who made it to age 97 said. I'm so mean even the germs don't mess with Me !" He actually wasn't mean but never lost His sense of humor and still had all His marbles.

SMSgt Lawrence McCarter - Yeah sounds like you got the genes! Aunt Seal made it to 102...still living on her own. Aunt Colletta made 96 and half. And Grandpa made it to 98. My oldest living sibling will be 86 in June, one other in her eighties, and the three of us youngsters all in our seventies. Still a good long life. Like you said not 1005 free of discomfort but most of the marbles are still in the bag.
