Old Man Statement, Day 89, 18 December 2025
Mr. Burk is so old...his first eating utensils were made from bones of wooly mammoths.

I owe credit to this old man statement to CPL Douglas Chrysler for reminding me this was buried in my old man document file somewhere!

A1C Medrick "Rick" DeVaney oh my goodness. I worked at a particular VA VISN and the director looked and was built like Fred Flintstone. The beauty is he knew everyone whispered "Freddie". LOL. He would say, "go ahead, you don't have to whisper". LOL

PO3 Phyllis Maynard -
I Don't recall Anyone Calling Charlie "Fred",
But If They Had, I Think Charlie Would Have
Laughed Right Along With Them.

I like this statement but what I have found is: While ancient humans utilized woolly mammoth bones and tusks for tools like scrapers and needles, "eating utensils" in the modern sense (such as forks and spoons) were not traditionally crafted from these remains for daily use. Instead, mammoth bone, tusk, and tooth are primarily used in contemporary cutlery handles and high-end artisanal tools.
Maybe Cpl Vic Burk can help clear this up.
