Good afternoon, Rallypoint. Today's Astronomy Picture of the Day (APOD) is titled "A Thousand Meteors." A total of 372 frames were assembled into this 1:18 video clip. Each shot was captured at an observatory in New South Wales, Australia (there are five!) and features sporadic meteors, bright fireballs, shower meteors, and even claimed lightning sprite (I didn't see that, but only watched the video twice). You'll see the entire Zodiac year in the sequence of images (at 0:48, an upside down Orion appears over the top of the tree on the right). No wonder there are five observatories in New South Wales!
