Am I overreacting... overthinking... or just becoming an old crotchety retiree?

I live right outside the gates of Fort Leonard Wood, the U.S. Army's largest training center, which also has the USMC's and USAF's largest contingents not on a Marine or Airbase... as well as Navy Detachment... and lots of others. So, I go there a lot... My wife also still works out there...

Today, while I was on post, of the 4 x Soldiers I saw heading into the PX and Shoppette, 3 of 4 had unauthorized hair, and the one who's hair was right, had giant unauthorized fingernails.

Then, I am heading out the door, it is 1700, "Retreat" is blaring across the Giant Voice system, and the dude in front of me (He had an Army Retired Hat on) ducked back inside rather walk outside and stand at attention. That was the proverbial straw...

I walked by him.. outside, and stood at attention as you should. Retreat is not a distractor, or burden, it is an honor... WTF...

Disappointed I am...
