CNBC paints a rosy picture. Sure enough every fast food joint in town is looking for employees, school is almost over for the year and there will be teens looking for summer work. One of you Economist types should run the numbers comparing now to 4 years ago.

How did they ever find so many people who actually want to work.

I would love to but it would be like trying to convince you that the Right to own a Gun was no longer relevant in this day and age. You are locked into a position that you will not budge from so putting the effort forward to provide you with the background info of what has happened since COVID would fall on deaf ears.

Not a meme was posted with this.
People are NOT as smart, intelligent or as informed as they claim.
The rise of inflation and cost of living has been increasing for decades as the “minimum wages” stayed stagnant.
Yet, those in political power have had raises and increased health insurance.
COMMON SENSE is NOT COMMON.
The rich and wealthy control the purses strings and media flow, they made regulations to send jobs overseas.
These are the same people that tell others : “Raising the minimum wages will hurt you”. As the continue to cut funding for social programs.
Why Salary Increases *Still* Do Not Align With Inflation
[ Willing Lemmings and Sheep ]
1.) Why Salary Increases *Still* Do Not Align With Inflation
With inflation now dropping in the U.S., it is possible that salary budgets could return to exceeding inflation in 2023 (which was the case in the low-inflation years from 2007 to 2020) or remain short of it (which was the case in high-inflation years such as 1979, 1980, 2021 and 2022).

3.) Real and nominal value of the federal minimum wage in the United States from 1938 to 2023
(in 2023 U.S. dollars)
U.S. minimum wage: real and nominal value 1938-2023
Published by Statista Research Department, Nov 3, 2023
When adjusted for inflation, the 2023 federal minimum wage in the United States is around 40 percent lower than the minimum wage in 1970. Although the real dollar minimum wage in 1970 was only 1.60 U.S. dollars, when expressed in nominal 2023 dollars this increases to 12.04 U.S. dollars. This is a significant difference from the federal minimum wage in 2023 of 7.25 U.S. dollars

People will argue on the behalf of those looking to cut their own benefits they’ve earned.
People will argue on behalf of corporations and their shareholders, then say it’s someone else’s ….. “the others” fault.
So Taxes can go up
So home & auto & health insurance can go up.
EXAMPLE ANYONE CAN COMPREHEND :
So food and gas prices can go up. The food prices rise and the food inside the packaging is smaller. $2.00 or more for a Snickers or any candy bar that was .25 cents, it’s gotten smaller.
Yet, a pay raise is selfish.
Yet, living above the poverty line is the reason the economy is bad.
Yeah, the pay raise isn’t why people are not working, people are tired of being underpaid and disrespected.
$7.25 per hr. X 40hrs. W.wk. = $290.00 a wk.
$1,160.00 a month x 13 mns. =
$13,920.00 Annual Income
Not just “kids jobs” or pay.
Adults rather single or with a family were supposed to continue to survive in poverty.
P.S.
Those VERY same politicians and think tanks that rally against a minimum wage, are aiming for :
* SSI/SSA Earned Benefits
* Retired Military Benefits
* VA Benefits to end at age 67 for current and future military.
* (Look into the FACTS for yourselves, there currently legal legislation in the works to strip away ALL EARNED MILITARY benefits)

Why Salary Increases *Still* Do Not Align With Inflation
Salary increase budgets continue to move differently than inflation under changing economic conditions.
