More : "Out of the mouth of babes."
I have been looking through last year's Christmas photos...and came across the Ginger Bread House making we did. My Kathy and my Daughter's made the very pretty ones. The one on the far right? The gingerbread mess, that looked like a hurricane hit it. Yes, that one is mine. And it was my best effort too.
So when we lined them all up for the photo...I was feeling a bit down about my entry to the little in home contest.
There was a moment of silence when they got to mine, and we had to vote on giving it a score from one to ten. So far, nobody had gotten lower than an "Eight."
So we all just sort of stood there and stared at mine. I knew their minds were grinding gears on how to score it honestly. All of us had hidden smiles and chuckles...because well, it was horrid.
And then my daughter said:
"Ten. That's a Ten!"
We all finally let out our laughter. And then said:
"A Ten? No way. I gave it a Zero...and I made it!"
She laughed. So did the rest of my family. And then she melted my heart with her next words:
"No. It is a full on Ten!"
"Why, Honey?"
"Because it is so YOU, Dad. One glance and anyone who knows you at all, would say: "Bet Kevin made that one." So it is a Ten."
And so it was.
